PgHLANGE VIII was held September 24-26, 1976 at the Viking Motel in Pittsburgh, PA. The GoH was Joe Haldeman. Rusty Hevelin was toastmaster. It had a banquet and was chaired by Barbara Geraud.
Just before the convention, Rusty Hevelin shaved off his beard. Someone put up a survey in the dealers room door asking whether people preferred him with or without the beard. The "grow the beard back" respondents won by a landslide.
