(???? – )

Detroit, MI fan George Young was the first fan to wear a propeller beanie at a con.

A member of the Misfits, he coined that nickname for the Michigan Science Fiction Society. He edited the 17th World Science Fiction Convention (Detention) program book. George might give you a Hurt Look Real Soon Now. He attended Midwestcon 1.

His photo (with fellow fan Art Rapp) appears on Harry Warner's history of SF fandom in the 1950s, A Wealth of Fable p22.
