Barbara Bovard (aka Barbara Edge), a pioneering female LA fan, started contributing to fanzines before Ackerman dragged her into organized LA fandom.
In 1944, she lived in Fairbanks, Alaska, and belonged to FAPA. She gafiated after moving to Washington, DC, for War work.
She may have gone by the name "The Atlantean."
