Russell J. Hodgkins found sf around 1918. In the 30s, he was a director of the LASFL and one of the Moonrakers (the "bad boys" of LASFS). He was an editor of Mikros. He was a Technocrat, but thought Esperanto was silly. He attended the Denvention.

Later he was one of the leaders of Carcosa House.
