Doug Rice is an American comic-book artist, writer, and television animator living in the Chicago area.

He served in the US Air Force during the 1960s and 1970s and started his comics career in the fan scene of the late 1970s and early 1980s.

He published several adult minicomics in the period 1978-1981, for which he used the pen name Red.
