Africa is the setting of many Lost World and adventure stories as well as Africanfuturism fiction.
Beginning in the 21st century, Nigeria and the rest of the continent have seen increasing professional activity, including the African Speculative Fiction Society and its Nommo Awards. Most of the fandom seems to be in South Africa.
