Bruce Evry, a Maryland fan, founded the FanTek club in the early 1980s with his wife Cheryl Evry. For over 20 years, the Evrys hosted EveCon and CastleCon in the Washington, DC area. He was also the director of the Washington Area Computer Enthusiasts beginning in 1986.
