Danny L. Adkins, a fanartist who began publishing a fanzine, Sata, from Phoenix, AZ, in 1956. He did art for other fanzines, including Xero, JD-Argassy, Amra, Vega, and Yandro. For a time, he secretly drew art under the name Art Lee.

He moved to New York in 1958 and worked as a professional SF magazine and comic book artist. SF magazines he worked for included Amazing, Fantastic, Galaxy, If, Infinity Science Fiction, and Other Worlds. Early in his career, he worked as an assistant to SF and comic book artist Wallace Wood, and later contributed art to both Marvel and DC comic books.

Adkins was married to Jeanette Strouse.
