Benecia I was held July 5–7 1974 in the ballroom of Stoufer's Inn, Atlanta, GA (Marietta was the contact address where the teenaged organizer Steve Reed lived). It was planned as a big Star Trek event (the name comes from a planet in the series finale) but almost cancelled due to lack of interest and resurrected at the last minute by the guest/lecturer Robert H. Gibbons as a "minicon" for a few dozen locals.

Benecia '75 or II on July 4–6, 1975 at the Sheraton-Biltmore expected up to 2,000 people but only 600 came; GoH was DeForest Kelley.

A third was reportedly announced for July 23–24, 1976 but cancelled early in the year.[1]
