Walter Ernsting was a German fan and SF and fantasy author who mainly published under the pseudonym of Clark Darlton. Ernsting published several novels under the Darlton pseudonym and on August 4, 1955, together with other SF authors, founded the Science Fiction Club Deutschland (SFCD). He has been called the "father of German fandom".
