Anticipation, the 2009 Worldcon, and fifth in Canada, was held August 6-10 2009 in the Palais des congrès de Montréal in Montreal, Canada. GoHs: Neil Gaiman (pro), Elisabeth Vonarburg (pro), David Hartwell (editor), Tom Doherty (publisher) and FGoH: Taral Wayne. Chairmen: René Walling and Robbie Bourget. It was also Canvention 29.

Ralph Bakshi was originally announced as Artist GoH but withdrew for health reasons.

Bidders: Montreal in 2009, KC in 2009. 2011 Worldcon Site Selection, 2010 NASFiC Site Selection.
