Westercon 40 (called Episode XXXX) was held July 2-5, 1987 at the Oakland Hyatt Regency & Convention Center in Oakland, CA. GoH: Gregory Benford, FGoH: Aubrey MacDermott; Artist GoH: Lela Dowling and Ken Macklin; Filk GoH: Leslie Fish. Chaired by Lisa Deutsch Harrigan.
