Nathan Greenfeld was a very early fan in New York. He was a founding member of the Scienceers, the first science fiction club, and attended its first meeting on December 11, 1929, a date often considered the birthday of fandom.
He hosted meetings of the club at his home in the Bronx beginning in late 1930, first of the Allen Glasser faction, after a feud split the group, and later of the rejoined organization.
