Loscon 47

Loscon 47 will be held November 26-28, 2021 at the LAX Marriott in Los Angeles. It was originally scheduled to be held November 27-29, 2020, but was postponed to the following year due to the Covid-19 epidemic. The GoHs will be Gregory Benford, Jeff Sturgeon, Dennis Cherry, and Kristine Cherry. The theme will be either "Celebrating the Science in Science Fiction & the Fan in Fantasy" or "Putting the Science in Science Fiction". It also has Tim Griffin as "Special Musical Guest" and Matthew Medney as "Special VR Media Guest".

In April 2021, Westercon 73 collapsed and by the Westercon rules, the remains were turned over to the LASFS Board of Directors who elected to hold the Westercon Business meeting and 2023 site selection voting (which should have been done at Westercon 73) at Loscon 47.
