(December 17, 1954 – May 4, 2023)

Ed Zdrojewski

Edward Zdrojewski (pronounced “Zdroy-EF-ski”), known in fandom as Ed Zed, was a Midwestern fan most active in the 1970s and ’80s. He was involved in Michifandom while attending Michigan State University in East Lansing and later working as a reporter for the St. Joseph Herald-Palladium, during which time, he published a fanzine called the Benton Harbor Rat-Weasel. He was a member of MiSHAP.

He more or less gafiated after marrying and moving to downstate Illinois, though he still attended the occasional con up through at least 2000, and corresponded with fan friends.

Ed spent most of his professional career as an agricultural journalist, the last 30 years at Grain Journal, where, among other things, he wrote a murder-mystery serial about a grain elevator. He was a native of Cleveland. Ed died of cancer.
